KUWAIT CRICKET CLUB ORGANISES KUWAIT KERALA PREMIER LEAGUE EDITION XI FINALS

Kuwait Cricket Club is the official governing body for the game of cricket in association with Public Authority of Sport (PAS) , Kuwait Olympic Committee (KOC), ACC & International Cricket Council (ICC) organized the finals of Summer League 2019 at Kuwait Entertainment City Cricket Ground.

 

Division A

Q8 Calicut Safety Plus lifted their fifth KKPL championship by defeating Palakkad Patriots in a one-sided contest with a convincing margin of 75 runs at Doha Entertainment City Ground. Having won the toss, Q8 Calicut chose to bat first and posted a respectable 169, thanks to decent contributions from Edson Silva, Diju Xavier and Farook. With the ball, they were lethal and picked up wickets at regular intervals to beat Palakkad to just 94 in 13 overs. Avinash was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets and Shafeeq, Sanal and Edson chipping in with 2 wickets each.  Avinash bagged the Man of the Match for his fine performance.

Division B

In the Division B finals, Rising Star Kottayam took on 11-star Kannur in an interesting encounter. 11-star Kannur won the toss and elected to bat first and banging on some fine display by Srinath Janardhanan, 11-star amazed 160 runs on the board with the loss of 9 wickets. Rising Star Kottayam in their chase was right up to it and aided by some poor fielding by 11 star, they chased down the total in 15.3 overs. Dileepan Kuttiammar scored a fantastic 75 off just 38 balls to bag the Man of the Match.

 

Division C

In Division C finals, Kannur Blue Dragons clinched a thriller by defeating Kollam Titans by just 1 run. Kannur Blue Dragons sent Kollam Titans to bat after winning the toss, but Kollam were able to post a challenging target of 193 runs. In reply, Kannur were able to chase down the target in 17.3 overs, but they lost 9 wickets in the process making it a real nail-biter. Shibu Raj’s performance turned out to be the difference and he got the Man of the Match.

 

The presentation party was attended by Mr. Rishi D Jayan, Director Domestic Cricket, Mr. Robert D Souza, Director, Logistics & Facilities, Mr. Saud Qamar, Government Authorities / Affairs, Mr. Imbran Nasser, Logistics & Mr. Qais Parkar from the events team of Kuwait Cricket.
